ROBEL on the Pulse of the Track – InnoTrans Novelties 2016

News Release ROBEL

– World Premiere: Precision Power Wrench ROBEL 30.73 PSM
– ROBEL knows urban: Transport System for Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe
– Tamping nonstop: Vertical Tamper ROBEL 62.05 now also battery powered

ROBEL 30.73 PSM. Concentrated Wrenching Performance at InnoTrans.

How easy precision wrenching can be is best experienced directly on track. So for their worldwide market launch, ROBEL took the new precision power wrench to the InnoTrans outdoor track to let it „robeln“ (an expression widely used in Germany for „wrenching“) for four days in front of the international expert public.
„Next to the intuitive calibration and handling it is especially the work result of the 30.73 PSM that impresses our clients“, ROBEL CEO Wolfgang R. Fally sums up the exhibition talk. „We are proud to currently have the only power wrench on the German market that the DB [German Deutsche Bahn], due to its precision, has excepted from their 1% and 5% regulation. The positive feedback on the
market place InnoTrans confirms our course. In the exchange with our clients from all over the world we come to an understanding for their demand – and that is exactly what we need to develop new solutions.“ The ROBEL competence in wrenching also shows on the German home market where the 30.73
PSM has already been in operation for the last few months with considerable success.

ROBEL Transport System for more urban mobility

ROBEL shows high profile in urban traffic: during a ceremony at the InnoTrans outdoor tracks, ROBEL CEO Wolfgang R. Fally presented together with Jörn Schwarze, Management Board Member of Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe (KVB) a new transport system specially developed for the Cologne traffic net. In addition to the track vehicle with loading crane, ballast lorry and low-floor trailer that are exhibited
in Berlin, ROBEL has developed a long-welded rail wagon for rails up to 18 m and a transport wagon which will carry a high-pressure water jetting and vacuum system for cleaning tunnel sewers. „For decades, ROBEL has built up know-how at the development and production of machines for railway systems. The KVB is using our components in mixed operation – – this meant for us to adapt them to the participation in street traffic“, outlines ROBEL area sales manager Hannes Schildbeck the challenges of the substantial order from Cologne. „In tight cooperation with KVB, we have developed new concepts for cabins, brake and coupling systems to make urban rail maintenance efficient and safe.“
Minimise disturbance, make construction periods tolerable – this claim of KVB has led, together with changing operative conditions, to the decision to modernise the KVB vehicle fleet for the maintenance of track facilities. The new ROBEL system transports material for rail and catenary construction, it is fit for tunnels and also used for the rescue of coaches. The transport system, including a long-term contract for service and revision, was ordered at InnoTrans 2014 and will start operation at the end of 2016 for the KVB urban railway routes, Bonn
municipal network as well as for the Port an Freight Haulage Cologne. A large-scale project with signalling effect for urban track maintenance companies on the verge of investment decisions for their fleet.

Flexible – light-weight – zero-emission: ROBEL 62.20L battery powered Vertical Tamper

Rough terrain, emission sensible metropolitan areas, supply shortfalls – however the construction site looks like, ROBEL has the right vertical tamper. The battery powered version presented at this year“s InnoTrans is the fifth member of the 62.05 series already consisting of vertical tampers with petrol, electric and hydraulic motors. The new 62.20L is silent, emission free and easy to use – the tamper of choice for the compaction of ballast under sleepers at sites with hard access, in tunnels or urban areas. That the modular battery of 62.20L can also be used for the 10.20 Rail Drilling Machine and the 30.20 Impact Wrench goes without saying.

InnoTrans – the catalyser for ROBEL innovations

Product development follows fair. At InnoTrans, ROBEL opens an intensive dialogue with branch experts in order to not only keep up with demand, but to stay ahead of it.
