The Hendeleins picture dictionary series: What do you see and hear? … at the table

The first two parts of the interactive children’s dictionary „The Hendeleins – What do you see and hear?“ are already very successful. Now, the German publishing house Riedel e.K. presents the third part of this series.

Each part of this dictionary series focuses on one certain aspect of everyday life. In the first two parts, children could learn words from the areas ‚in the outdoors‘ and ‚at home‘; the third part now contains vocabulary that can be found ‚at the table‘. The learning contents are not presented as vocabulary lists, but are integrated into the illustrated stories about Ducki, the duck, and the other animals in the forest.

It is not only the wonderful illustrations that make these children’s dictionaries special. Because even young children are very familiar with electronic media today, the dictionaries from the Hendeleins-series are interactive. Children can simply touch the screen and not only see but also hear the name of the object shown in the picture. By repeating the sounds they hear, children can easily learn the word and its pronunciation. The vocabulary games and puzzles contained in the dictionary make learning even easier. This combination of illustrations, interactive games and voice output makes learning vocabulary not only fun, but also very effective.

The interactive German/English picture dictionary series ‚The Hendeleins‘ with audio output is now available for download on the iBookstore. The iBook can be read only on an Apple iPad / iPad mini.
