Explosion Proof Cameras: Applications in the arctic, the tropes or sea

Explosion Proof Cameras from Samcon

An explosion proof CCTV camera which is suitable for operations in the mining industry as well as at offshore installations or in the chemical industry and which is, above all, also easy to commission? SAMCON are proud to introduce two new camera series disposing of a very broad application spectrum.

The ExCam IP135x series consists of variofocal cameras which are certified for explosion groups IIC / IIIC (ATEX and IECEx). In addition, the series also passed the fall and impact tests according to DIN EN 60079: 0 2012 so that it is not only possible to use them for fixed but also for mobile applications – e.g. at a conveyor belt in a mine.

The ExCam IPQ1755: Small housing – but great resolution (HD)

With the ExCam IPQ1755, HD resolution meets motor zoom. The 10 x motor zoom and the auto focus allow the usage in various surroundings and for a wide variety of applications. And due to the modular design it is possible to freely combine flanges and housing bodies to achieve an even higher degree of flexibility. Because of the high-quality housing (different stainless steel alloys or powder-coatings), the cameras are also media resistant.

At a length of 260 mm and at a diameter of just 113 mm, the ExCam IPQ1755 is more compact than most of the ex-cameras of other manufacturers – and this without affecting functionality. High resolution pictures are processed with up to 30 frames per second – without motion blur! Thanks to the day/night function, the camera can be used even in extreme low lighting conditions. Via Plug & Play, the camera can be integrated into an existing network or it can be operated autarkic (independently from external computers, storage on a storage cards).

„The series hast two extraordinary advantages. On the one hand, the cameras are waterproof according to protection level IP68. Due to this, they are suitable for applications in the mining industry, in marine surroundings, or of course also in the chemical industry. The other particularity is the extreme temperature range which the cameras can endure. For us humans it is relatively easy: When it snows and it gets cold, we just add layers of clothing to compensate for it. And when it gets warm and we are at the beach we just strip off all unnecessary layers of clothing – down to the bathing suit. Cameras, on the other hand, have to be equipped with suitable devices in order to adapt to the surrounding conditions. We have worked meticulously so that our cameras do not only operate in great heat but also in great cold“, says Steffen Seibert, managing director of SAMCON.

The cameras extend the existing system landscape of the ExCam series and are easy to be integrated into present networks. All cameras are available now.
The most important advantages at a glance:

– Waterproof according to IP68
– Certified according to ATEX / IECEx for equipment groups I & II
– Portable applications possible:
Fall and impact tests according to DIN EN 60079: 0 2012
– Easy Plug & Play installation
– Modular design
– Media resitance towards many chemicals
-Very wide temperature range
