BURGER GROUP introduces compact high-torque actuators delivering up to 3 Nm

New solutions for future vehicle concepts at IZB 2026

Schonach, Black Forest, 7 October 2026 – BURGER GROUP ( www.burger-group.com), a platform-driven systems provider of integrated mechatronic drive solutions, will present new compact high-torque actuators at this year’s International Suppliers Fair (IZB) in Wolfsburg, Germany, expanding its existing range of fail-safe and EVO actuators. The HTBL (High Torque Brushless) and HTDC (High Torque Direct Current) actuator platforms add two solutions to the company’s portfolio for demanding positioning and control tasks requiring higher torque. Delivering peak torque of up to 3 Nm, the actuators combine high power density with a compact design and are designed for thermal management applications as well as valve and flap actuation in passenger cars, commercial vehicles and stationary applications.

Their modular design allows different voltage and communication requirements to be accommodated within the same actuator platform. For example, 12 V variants with LIN and 24 V variants with CAN can be accommodated within the same installation space.

The scalable platform solutions are suitable for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, buses, agricultural machinery and off-highway vehicles. By reusing standardised components, vehicle manufacturers and system suppliers can also shorten development times, reduce the number of variants, standardise interfaces and minimise integration effort.

BURGER GROUP will showcase the new high-torque actuators at IZB in Wolfsburg from 27 to 29 October 2026. At the BURGER stand, Hall 6, Stand 6420, visitors can learn more about the technical capabilities of the two actuator platforms and how they can be configured for specific applications, and discuss potential applications directly with BURGER GROUP experts.

>> Two drive concepts for different requirements

The HTBL and HTDC actuator models use different drive technologies: the HTBL features a brushless DC (BLDC) motor, while the HTDC uses a DC motor. Both deliver more than 1 Nm of nominal torque and up to 3 Nm of peak torque. Electronics and software are integrated into both product families, which share a common platform strategy and enable new applications to be implemented quickly without the need for a complete redesign.

>> Key features at a glance:

HTBL: Integrated brushless
motor with optional absolute position sensing on the output shaft to meet
the highest requirements for service life and positioning accuracy.

HTDC: 360-degree range of
motion with absolute position sensing, combined with robust, proven DC
motor technology.

The HTBL with a 12 V LIN interface has now reached B-sample maturity and is undergoing system-level testing. The HTDC has also reached B-sample maturity and is available as a prototype for 12 V and 24 V applications with various electrical interfaces.

>> Additional focus at IZB: End-to-end manufacturing for complex assemblies

Alongside the new high-torque actuators, BURGER GROUP will also showcase complex current-carrying assemblies for battery-electric and hybrid powertrains at IZB. As a one-stop shop with production sites in Europe and North America, BURGER GROUP supports customers worldwide with resilient supply chains and local support.

BURGER covers the entire process chain, from stamping and laser cutting to hybrid injection moulding and laser welding, as well as automated assembly, joining technology and functional testing. This end-to-end process enables BURGER to deliver even complex assemblies from a single source, reduces the number of interfaces and supports scalable industrialisation. BURGER GROUP experts will be available throughout the show to answer technical questions and provide further insights.

BURGER GROUP is one of the leading system partners in transmission technology and mechatronics, delivering high-performance drive solutions for a wide range of applications.
